caffeiene having different wavelents it having 2 maximas
and 1 minima.
1st maxima is 205nm
2nd maxima is 273nm
minima is 245nm
and it is primary reference standard and also suggested in
pharmacopiea.

Why we use it, Because of
# It gives a multiwavelength response like 205,245,273 nm
# It is easily available in market
# It is very stable, we can use a long time foranalysis
i.e. it is not degradable
# It is chip

1. caffeine easily available in market.
2. In general we all use caffeine as a standard for
calibration of HPLC specially for (Calibration of Wave
Length Accuracy) since it will scan the whole of the UV
range i.e It gives a multiwavelength response like
first maxima at 205 nm
second maxima at 273 nm &
minima at 245nm
3. It is very stable, we can use a long time for analysis
i.e. it is not degradable
4. In this case we can use Erbium Perchlorate which will
scan the whole range(200 nm to 600 nm).It is stable and
little costly but not easily available in market.
