Landscape is nothing but the number of servers maintained by
the client.

Basically there are three servers maintained by the client
1) Development server
2) quality server
3) production server.

This are the three basic servers maintained , but the number
of servers differ from business to business.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Paul, You care right (most of the companies have 3
server landscape)
However, some companies also have a 4 system landscape
(like mine)
-Development
-Quality
-Pre-production
-Production

and in these servers there can be many clients (however are
restricted to 3-4)
The landscape during Upgradation would change slightly..as
in there would generally be a dual client strategy opted...
to keep data safe
