the use of usage is automatic determination of the subitems
in sales order docu othertan BOM item.

there are many kinds of 'usage'. Many of them are hardcoded
in the source code, for example for free goods, packing item
generation, retail system...



The only way I know to affect this behavior is use the item
usage in the customer/material info record (details view,
tcode VD51, VD52)



You can customize your own in the item customizing tree, and
then place it in the info-record and use it in the item
determination.

This has 2 roles to paly in the item categor
determination .

1. This key along with other keys ( sales doc type; higher
level sales item category and item category group ) defines
the item category

2. This key along with the MRP type specifies about the
the schdule line category

Quotation has been created for product-D, 10 quantities, sales order is created with reference to the quotation, system copies 10 quantities in sales order. How do you restrict in sales order end user should not change quantities, system should not allow for changes by en user?
