IN CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN WHY WE ARE USING LIMIT STATE
METHOD IS BEST?
I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS BEST?
EX; FOR COLOUMN DESIGN IN LIMIT STATE METHOD AST
IS;1913SQ.MM
SAME TIME WORKING STRESS METHOD IS ;2213.
SO I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS VERY STRONG COMPARE
THEN LIMIT STATE METHOD?
MY OPENING IS CORRECT OR NOT? PLS TO EXPLAIN SIRS

1)Working stress method is only available upto hooks law..i.e stress is directly proportional to strain..but in nature no matters are totally elastic in nature and does not obeys hooks law...so we introduced a new LIMIT STATE METHOD where u can design beyond the elastic limit upto plastic limit... 2)In working stress method the design is done for any structural element upto uncertain durability but in limit state the durability is limited and safe.
3)Material;time;cost of construction more in working stress....so its too much less efficient than Limt state method.
