I want to know the req quantity of cement for plastering 300
sft in final coat with 12 mm. Any math involved? Plz help

Answer / er. jawed
Since area to be plastered = 300sft = 300/10.76 =27.88 sqm
qty of mortar =27.88*.012 = 0.335
now increase this qty by 20% for filling of joint, followed
by 1/3rd of initial qty (i,e; 0.335)which is equivalent to
dry mortar qty
Now, qty of mortar = 0.335+0.20*.335+1/3*0.335 = 0.514 Cum
for mortar Ratio 1:4 , sum of ratio =1+4 =5
Qty of Cement =.514/5 = 0.1028 Cum , (2.96 = 3 Bag )
as 1cum cement =28.8 Bag
Qty of sand = .1028*4 =0.4112 Cum = 13.27 Cft
Hope this will be helpfull for you

Area of plaster surface = 300 sq.ft. = 27.868 sq.mt.
Thickness of Plaster = .012 mt.
Volume of Cement Mortar = 27.868x.012 = .334 cu.Mt.
Extra for wet mix (wastage) 20% = .334*20/100 = .0668 cu.mt.
Extra for dry mix 30% = .334*30/100 = .1004 cu.mt.
Total Volume = 0.5012 Cu.mt.
Ratio of Plaster = 1:5
Area of cement = 0.5012/6 = .083 cu.mt.
Weight of cement = .083X1440 = 119 kg
Bags of cement = 119/50 = 2.39 bags.
Area of Sand = .5012*5/6 = .417 cu.mt.

ASSUME PROPORTION IS [ 1: 6 ]
AREA = 27.88 SQ MT
SET VOLUME = 27.88 X .012 = 0.334 CUM
30 % EXTRA FOR JOINT FILLING AND UNIFORM SURFACE =
0.334+0.36 = 0.694 CUM
[ 1 CUM SET MORTAR = 1.25 CUM DRY MORTAR ]
SO , 1.25 X 0.694 = 0.867 CUM
0.867 / 7 = 0.123 CUM CEMENT
NO OF BAGS = 28.88 X 0.123 = 3.57 BAGS = 178.5 KGS
SAND = 0.867 X 6 = 5.2 CUM

For 100 sqm dry volume of mortar is= 2cum in wall and 1.8
in ceiling
Now suppose mortar ratio is 1:4
than cement is=(2/1+4)*1=0.4cum=0.4/0.035=11.42 begs for
100 sqm
Now your reuirement is= 300sqft=27.88sqm
so consumption is=(27.88*11.42)/100=3.18 begs

Given data
area quanity: 300 sq.ft. thisimplies: 27.87cu.m
thickness of plaste: 12mm or: .012m
ratio 1:5 (assume)
Wet mixed mortar for uniform layer:27.87*.012:
0 .334cu.m adding 30 percent to fill up joints, unevensurfaces, etc
The quantity of mortar comes to 0.334 plus 0.100:0.434
Increasing by 25 percent the total dry volume
0.434 plus 0.108 : 0.542cu. M
cement: 1/6 *0.542 :0.0903 cu.m
0.0903* 30 : 2.70 bag say 3bag
sand: 5/6*0.542 :0.45cu.m

Generally
Dry Volume=1.54 X Wet Volume - For Concrete
Dry Volume =1.35XWet Volume – For Mortar
Wastage not taken for calculation of Ingredient, it’s taken in quantity which to be calculated.
Percentage taken as per your choice (2-5%).
Now you know how to calculate the ratio.

Answer / sudiptodas
its simple
1st step to fined the volume of mortar
as per question
300 sft=27.28m*m
thickness of plaster= 12mm
so volume of plaster= 27.28*.012=.3336m3
this is wet volume.to transfer in to wet
.3336*1.54=.514
this is your total mortar
conceder 1:3 mix
so cement= .514/4=.128= 3.7 bags
sand .128*3=.384m3

Firstly decide ratio of Mortar is 1:5
SQMT OF mortar is =300/10.76=27.88 sqm
Volumn of mortar is =27.88*.012=0.334 Cum
required bag of cement is =.334/(1+5)*.035=1.59 bags
Uses in ccement 1.59 bags

Answer / umair ahmad
unit of rate=300sft
thickness of plaster=12mm
wet volume of mortar=300*0.039=11.7cft
dry volume of mortar=11.7*1.27=14.85cft
ratio of cement=1:4(Assuming 1:4 ratio of mortar)
sum of ratio=1+4=5
quantity of cement=1/5*14.85=2.97cft.
2.97/1.25=2.376 Bags.
quantity of sand=4/8*14.85=7.425cft.
