Answer / bharat
In electric motor there are three windings.
U, V ,W ,respectively, so measuring of resistance of motor first. switch off electriacal system.
then take e Multimeter and set on Resistance / O'hm. then both cord of multimeter put on U-V winding.. and see the multimeter reading and note..

Disconnect motor terminals and check the winding resistance
with a multimeter at the two ends of each coil(U-U1,V-V1,W-
W1) and find the minimum acceptable value by using the
formula (Rated voltage (V)/1000+1)

Answer / d ramesh
disconnect the motor terminals, connect the multimeter
between r-phase two terminals, then multi meter reads the
resistance of the motor winding in r-pahse, similarly for
y&b-phases.

Pl check how the winding of motor is connected . Whether it
is Star or delta we have to use 4 probe Ohmmeter ,
preferably injecting a current of 10A . The resistance can
be accurately measured

Answer / daher
bring motor, open cover, disconnect motor winding, make each
phase separetly,use muttimeter,select ohm reading
(resistance in ohm),put the tester probs on 1 phase
terminal, look at tester pointer how much the
reading ,reccort it .

there is One meter Called Motor winding resistance meter
(Ohmmeter). it does have four termainal namely 2 V(+ and -)
and 2 I(+and-), all the four terminal are connected to the
winding of motor to which we want to calculate the
resistance, namely Voltage leads are near the studs of the
winding and current leads are connetcted at the edge of the
studs so that while applying the voltage the resistance of
the winding can be calculated rather the the resistance of
the outer studs. This methos is allowed for both D and y
connection.........

My system is 22kv/3.3kv transformer. client is asking to use NGR, but as we have dedicated Neutral Earthing systems which has a value less than 1 Ohm. So i want solid comparision. Why i should not use NGR as my system is already protected. Can any one help me to get out of this.how should i reply on basis of some great comparision and calculations. Please help
