If one 10 Hp 3phase induction motor connected in 380volt
50Hz. and again its connected to 380volt 60Hz. howmuch
currrent and power take on both time?????
Answer / badshah
1.2 times that of 50 Hz Power. Frequency increases the
Speed & which in turn increases the power consumption
[P=(2*pi*N*T)/60 and N = 120f/Poles)]..so the ratio is
60/50. But the losses will be more, cause iron & hystersis
losses proportional to frequency squared. I think overall
efficiency may be reduced than when the motor is connected
50 Hz supply.
