Answer / p.gopalakrishnan
2/3 solenoid is not correct.
Generally we call it as 3/2 way solenoid valves
Ex: 3/2 way SOV,4/2 way SOV,5/2 way sov...
And in 3/2---- 3 indicates number of ports
i,e., input,output and exhaust.
2 indicates---- 2 positions.One position is to open(change
the position) the corresponding equipment and the second
position is to close (change the position) the
corresponding equipment.

This is totally wrong answer because 2/3 is not correct ,3/2 is correct. First digit denotes way and second digit denote Position. In any cylinder maximum two position possible first is Open and second is close,no chance for third position. If create third Position that means this will be middle if this position have that means the cylinder is jammed.
