1)how we calculate the drum level? and how we select the
transmitter range?

Answer / jsindrajit
Drum level is measured by measuring the differential
pressure accross two tapings(Bottom & Top)in the drum by
using DP transmitter, whose HP side is connected with the
Taping coming from the bottom and LP side connected with
the taping coming from top.
HP side will have a pressure of Both the Steam Pressure and
Water Level. At the same time LP side will have only Steam
Pressure. Therefore the transmitter will reflect only the
Water level.
The range selection for transmitter depends mainly on three
factors i.e. Drum working Temperature, Drum working
Pressure and Difference of pressure between two tapings.
There are other factors also like Dade band, accuracy,
repeatability, response time etc.

First of all u should be clear about which kind of liquid
level u want to measure? B'coz selection of level
transmitter depend on it. So many x'mitter are available
with different types and range according to the application.
And range is depends on ur drum size.

if we are trying to measure the drum level of a drum which
contain water or (H2O) we prefer to use the Hydrastep .
Which is in my knowledge one of the trusted sencer of it
kind .
Anather by using the pressure or more preciesely the DP
transmitter. Here what we do is , we take the connection of
the higher end of the DP Transmitter from d bottm of the
drum and simulteneously we take the connection form the
upper end .where we can find the difference and calculate
the level of water it has got. as during the time of
calibration it is being feeded what ll b d pressure of the
drum when it is full and what is the pressure when it is
empty .
so it ll differenciate the difference between the actual
lever of water level of the drum.
Here the key factor is the density of Any medium , once we
know the Exact density of the Medium we can find the level
easely with the DP Transmitter.
