1)concrete transfer only stress but it has no ability to
resist lateral pressure but steel can resist strain on
earthqueke & it also transfer load from slab, beam to soil.
2)HYSD is more durable, strength then plain bar

To avoid buckling load, we are using steel in column

steels are likely skeleton of our body. only concrete take
compression load but weak in tension. but steel is one of
the best reform to take care those load and strengthen
concrete to bear all kinds of load.
due to high yeild strength hysd bars are used for saving
steel.on account of increase in bond stress such bar
normally donot need end hook. transport, storage bending
and fixing charges are less than 35% cost of mild steel bar.

As column we know the column is compression member, but due
to lateral pressure there is a tension in column and to
avoid buckling due to axial load and shear crack we are
using steel in column. steel are also used to reduce the
cross sectional area of member.
As we know that HYSD steel is having high strenth than
plain steel, so it reduces the number of bar. therefore it
helps to avoid congestion and increase load carrying
capacity of column.

1) AS we know that steel strong in tension and concrete
strong in compression & column is compression member.
Column transfers the load of slab and beam to the footing.
only a compression member cant take all load so to increase
its tensile strength steels are used.
2) a)HYSD steels are more strong than the plain one
b) its more durable
c) plain bar dont have grip for supporting the concrete
but the HYSD steel has.

we use steel in column to avoid buckling due to axial load and to strengthen against the lateral pressure which is acting on column.
hysd is preferable because it develop good bond strength between the concrete and surface of bar and also it have high yield stress than the plain bar.

Every body know already tat steel is a member which is
strong in tension & weak in compression as concrete is
strong in compression & due to shear we get cracks in case
of columns. so here steel will be used ,but other thing is
only mild steel is used here becz hysd bars are of high
strength , we cannot use it as per ur requirements but mild
steel can be used

in column we are use steel becz of column is a compresion member .it has high load beam and slab load so we are use steel in column to avoid the buckling

concrete is very weak in tension.coefficient of thermal
expansion of both steel and concrete are nearly same.to
resist the tensile forces in columns steel will be used.
hysd or ribbed steel are made with twisting.it will give
more bondage to concrete.
