Hi Friends i finally succeeded to take the DP transmitter
into line for the Measurement of Level which is under
vaccum. The following steps to be followed.
1. Transmitter range should be in Positive side only.
2. Transmitter HP should be connected with the Level
chamber bottom side and maintain very less gap between
Level Chamber and Trasmitter HP end.
3. Connect Transmitter LP end with the Level Chamber Top
End and elevate the Pipe line 11/2 mtr above the tank level
in order to ensure that there will not any water entrance
into the LP side impulse line. We need to maintain LP side
without water.
4. All Joints should be tight and there will not be any
leakages.

Hi Friends,

We have Condensate storage tank which stores condensate water from Turbine Exhaust through air cooled condenser. Everything is in closed condition and we will maintain vaccume through out closed loop and about -0.9Kg/Cm2 pressure we will maintain in the tank. For tank level measurement we are using Float type transmitter which works on Archemedese Buoyancy principle. I Have doubt that whether we can use DP transmitter for the same service. Please rectify my doubt.

Yes, DP transmitter can be ued in the medium of vaccum for
measurement of Level.

As DP transmitter is having two tapping HP & LP, Hp is
connected to the desired tank bottom and LP side is connect
to the tank top which will minimize the vaccum effect and
HP side will measure the liquid head.

Hi friends ..I'm working in a paper industry ..There we need
vacuum to remove the moisture from the pulp.There v have a
level tank of water with vacuum ..Vacuum suck the moisture
from the pulp nd collects it in to the tank, to get good
formation of vacuum we should pump the water from the tank
according to the level ..Doesnt need to measure Vacuum alone
..According to the application it'l differ.Thank u..If any

WE USE DPT FOR HOTWELL LEVEL IN TURBINE EXHAUST ,STEAM WHAT
IS CONDENSATE IN CONDENSER AND COME TO HOTWELL . THE
CONDENSER WITH HOTWELL IN VACUM .

Yes Mr. Sankar, You are right, I have not seen any DP
transmitter for this servie and this is the only service I
have seen in Process industries, and leveltrols are used
for this, which have vaccume in the condensacte recovery of
turbine exhaust. Probably a DP transmitter also may work
here if Leveltrol is working same, like steam drum level
application.

yes we can use, but accuracy does matter.
Emrson & Endress Houser are also provide DP type Level Transmitter in both type of tank, open tank & close tank  with better accuracy.
Why we r not using these opptions.??

Mr.VA Could you give us an example of such measurement. the
tank with vaccume service? Most of the tanks are closed
roof, open roof, floating roofs, either atm pressure or
pressurised...I want to know where the tanks with vaccume.
please this is for my inforamtion.

Be clear about your query.
For the sake of god there is no such application as I know
in this industries on this earth .

Do you probabely like to measure the level in the tank on
Moon or on Mars? If it is just for knoweldge yes we can
measure the level with obsolute dp transmitters and also it
has to be designed to the particular vaccuum level. Vaccuum
level has got a range from 0 vaccum to full vaccume.

Please let me know if there is any this kind of application
on this earth for my knowledge.

Why does a pressure gauge installed on reactor, doesn't have any vent line below to release the pressure? Is it any kind of designing mistake or it actually does not require any vent line?
