A functional spec is like a die which contains
1)business user name
2)functional user name
3)RICEF
WHAT are going to writte abt it weather it is a interface or
enhancement,interface
you need to say what we are going to add to it which tables
we are using what is the lenght of fields
is it a inbound or out bound interface

Functional Spec is a document where you do the data mapping ( like which table,rows and columns in Non-SAP has to go to which table in SAP and what are the field names etc) and/or the Process logic ( like which transaction we use in SAP for the same) and/or error handling and/or output. And the link between SAP and Non-SAP happens through a middleware.
All of the above does not have to be entered in all Functional Specs. Depends on which RICEFW object we are writing each or few of the above applies.
