H.R.C. means 'High Repturing Capacity'.These are similar in construction to cartridge types with the exception that the fuse wire can carry short circuit heavy current for a known time period. During this time if the fault is removed then it does not blow off, otherwise it blow off and breaks the continuity of the circuit. The cartridge(i.e. encloser)of H.R.C. type is either of glass or some other chemical compound and is of air tight construction to avoid the effect of atmospheric air on the fuse material. These are available in 2 to 800Amp-capacity ranges. Fuse element is of silver

in industry sides some times very less time (rapid changing)short circuit fault is occur it will also break the fuse in the equipment like ht lt transformers and fuses in the poles so to reduce such a actions we use HRC fuse it will take some time to break the circuit .if the short circuit maintain in certain time period the hrc fuse will break the connections through it

It is High Rupturing Capacity fuse.Its functions same as that of kit-kat and cartridge fuse but only difference is that the rupturing capacity of HRC fuse is high compared to kit-kat and cartridge fuse
