Answer / k.p.selvakumar.
We design the turbine rpm more than 1500 rpm ,like 5136,or 7700.because,our generator have 1500,rpm .our turbine designed having number of stages.it use for create the torque which we want.
Infact we using 1500 rpm of turbine, it cannot to able to create the desirable torque. So we using reduction gear 1500 rpm.,for high rpm turbine.

As we know our design of the turbine is more than 1500 rpn ,like 6500,7000.and generator designed at 1500
rpm,
when we use the turbine Which is rotate 1500 RPM Which is not able to create the torque,
So we use the reduction gear ,Which is rotate the at 1500 rpm
& Able to create the torque.
