What different between kw and kva. why maser AC in kva...

Answer / gourav jaswal

kw is actual power.
kva is apprent power.
The main diffrence b/w these two is power factor,
kw = kva * p.f
Normaly p.f cant be calculated before in any AC system, so
that it measured in kva.
Same as in case of t/f its also have rating in kva (not in kw)

What different between kw and kva. why maser AC in kva...

Answer / vinoth

simple when a motor having some ratings ex: 7.5 kw motor
used the same power from the incomer.the volt,current rating
not changed. but transformer having kva rating because the
volt range constant and the current range is default so
thats only we use kva rating in tr and kw in motors.
