Can we use HRC fuse inplace of semi conductor fuse ? What
are difference between them?

Answer / rct
no ,semiconductor fuses are fast acting used for switching
devices such as transistors,IGBT,thyristors in order to
protect them. The rupture time is in msec .HRC fuses rupture
time is more and the current for rupturing is also high
making it suitable for motors/resistive loads

No we should not use the hrc fuse in place of semiconductor fuse.Because the hrc fuse will act ,at the time of short circuit or the current exceeding the fuse limit. But the semiconductor fuse will act when the current exceeding as well as no current in the circuit, where the voltage exceeds the fuse limit. So on any instant we will not match each other.

s ofcourse we can use it........because it can be used for both high current and low current purpose.....HRC ll be indicated in MVA.....but here the full capacity of current i.e rated mva.........becuse it ill melt the fuse element before reaching rated mva due to its cut off charecteristics...
