transformer is not rotating bcoz for rotating rotating
magnetic field is required which is produced only when the
current is passed through the windings which are displaced
physically by 120degrees and phase difference of 120
degrees where as in transformer there is no phsical
displacement of 120degrees hence transformer cannot rotate.

A Transformer does not rotate because:-
1. Its windings are not displaced in space i.e 120 degrees apart so a rotating flux is not produced, instead an alternating flux is all it has.
2. All its parts are rigidly maintained for the intent of no movement.

transformer do not rotate because it has conentrated
winding, not distributed as in case of motor, which are
displaced by 120 degrees.

MOTOR:
When a current carrying conductor is placed inside a
magnetic field then it experiences a torque. This torque
causes rotor of motor to rotate. In case of motor, rotor
conductor carries a current which is in the vicinity of
magnetic field created by current flowing through stator
winding.hence rotor rotates.
TRANSFORMER:
In this case whole magnetic field is confined inside the
transformer core (Except leakage field). But current carrying
conductors (i.e. windings)are wrapped around the core.Thus
conductor is not in the vicinity of magnetic field and hence
no torque is developed. So due to absence of torque (Which is
compulsory for rotation),transformer does not rotate.

The transformer connect on AC suplly, then magnitic flux
prodused by winding.& this flux cut with secondory winding
by air gap.this flux only chngig & alternati flux depen
upone supply.like 1-phase or 3-phase.
rotating magnetic field required to rotating mashine.in
motor produced rotating magnetic field.by phase
displacement.
Any mashine required phase displacement to rotate
mashine.in transformer not phase displacement.so
transformer not rotating.

Transformer doesnot rotate unlike induction motors because
it does not have speed voltage component that is the
primary and secondary windings are parallel to each other
making sine 0=0 thus they dont rotate...incase of induction
motors they are at 90 degrees..

AC electrical system is represented by two types of vectors. Time phase vector (sinusoidal wave) and space phase vector (windings are kept apart at a certain physical distance.
These two vectors are needed to generate a rotating magnetic field and a rotary motion.
An induction motor has these two and hence it rotates. But in transformer, it has only time phase vector and it does not rotate.

primary and secondary bound on same core that is stationary,
due to absence of any rotating part only constant power is
delevered on rotor side.
if primary and secondary are seprated and if secondary is
situated on rotor part it starts rotating as induction motor.

Because motor have permanent poles which make it to rotate and transformer dont have such permanent electromagnetic pole arrangement.
