Answer / makpsingh
Any transformer should have atleat four earthings.
2 connections for its neutral earthing and
2 connections for its body earhtings
All the connections should be with dedicated earth pits
which may be interconnected for relaiblity and to have
lower earth reistance value.
These earth pits should be duly marked and to be tested on
a dry day once in year of earth reisistance and earth
continuity. Earth Resistance value should be less than 5
ohms and if it is greater then these earth pits should be
treated to bring dowun the value.

Thats depends upon the vector group of the transformer.in
case star-star,the neutral earthing is require 4Nos
(Primary/Secondary)earthing and transformer body is
required 2Nos earthing.Types of earting is more than 2.That
is depends upon the standard practice.
Types
1.Direct earthing(In India)
2.Inductance earthing(In practice in UN)
3.Using resonant coil

Now days in normal practice we are using 100mm Dia cast
iron pipe length of 2.5Mtr.It is good conductivity compare
the pipe and plate earthing.
