There are two types of CT's.One is protection CT,second is metering CT.
Protection CT protect the electrcal system for any abnormal condition & trip over system.Metering CT used for Finding load.

CBCT(core balance curremt transformer) mounted at LT side
for load balancing. when difference between the load
current b/w two phases is greater then the minimum value
then it energize the coil to trip the circuit.
