To find the unit weight of reinforced for the given diameter.
wt/m = area of bar*unit weight of steel
=22/7*1/4*(D)^2*(7850)/10^6 = 0.0061678*(D)^2
= (1/0.0061678)*D^2 = D^2/162.13
Ex.for 12mm dia.= 12^2/162.13 = 144/162.13= 0.888 kgs/m

As our friend mr ketan khatri had given the correct
explanation for finding the wt/m of any dia (but slight
correction i need to add to that ie, insteed of 164 it is
162) hence using formulae
wt /m (of any dia)=(suare of diametre of that dia)/162
That dia indicates ,the dia for which u need to find the
wt/m

16mm diameter bar
weigh factor for 16mm
16 x16 x 0.00617=1.579kg
whatever u get multipy by the weigh factor gives u the
kilogram of the reinforcement

Answer / nagori salim
weight/metre (kg/m) = d*d/162
Now,
weight (kg) = length * (d*d/162)
= metre * (kg/m)
= kg
where, d = dia of bar.

I am totally agree answer posted by Murali, it
should be D*D/162 right but that's coming from below
calculation. so,this concept is main.
wt/m = area of bar*unit weight of steel
=22/7*1/4*(D)^2*(7850)/10^6 = 0.0061678*(D)^2
= (1/0.0061678)*D^2 = D^2/162.13
Ex.for 12mm dia.= 12^2/162.13 = 144/162.13= 0.888 kgs/m
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 22 Yes | 0 No |
Answer / adnan kaleemi
d*d/162
d=diameter of a bar in mm
is equal to wt in kg per running meter
