why ht motor connection in star

HT motors operates on high voltage ( 6.6 or 11KV). IF we
make delta connections than voltage experianced by windings
will be line voltage, which will require more insulation of
winding. In star connection voltage experinced by each
winding is phase voltage hence less insulation is required.
This is the reason HT motors always wound in star
connection.

Because HT motor having large starting current so that if
your connection will be in star then your current will be
root three so its automatically reduce.
its star delta principle...in star connection current will
root three times reduce.

the ht motor connection in star because it is easy and
cheaper than delta connection in high voltage and star
delta connection not used in this system .
and the best question here why the ht capacitor of power
factor connection star not delta although the delta
connection is more economecal than star. we need in star
three times farad(reactive power) of ccapacitor than delta
but we connection star not delta because the same reason in
ht motor.
but the ht transformer some times it is necssary to
conection the primary or the secondary or both delta
accrding to the requirment of network.

in star connected sysytms...u can provide it with a
neutral..so that in case of faults the fault current will
flow through the neural nd hence preventing shocks!!
