Guard wire have a supper conductivity & almost negligible
resistance , that why leakage current can easily flow through
it..

as guard wire has less resistance wire but some where we use g.i wire whose resistance is high but the correct answer for that should be that the current choose a path to ground which is less resistible it will go through that and our body is less conductive in comparison to the conductors
