To Chetan,
Suppose u got 80 out 0f 100 in an exam.
this means u r at a pf of 0.8, the class topper got 95, so
his PF is 0.95.

Now note that KVA is ur total marks(100)
and KW is what u scored.

now its simple pf=kw/kva

In the above:

cos(phi)=PF= KW/KVA formula is correct.

but KVA is apparent power not reactive power.

KVA= V*I ,
KW=V*I*cos(phi) ,
KVAR= V*I*sin(phi)

KVA=apparent power=Sqrt(KW*KW + KVAR*KVAR)

I want to put this query to SENIOR & EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS. 1)I want to know about the control circuit diagrams for control panels. I found it difficult to understand. Is there ant booklet through which we can learn the circuit diagrams? 2)I want to learn about conduiting, laying cables, preparing cable schedules and various techniques which is the part of building infrastucture(construction field). I don't have any experience in this area. I have experience in control panels only. that's why i am not getting any opening in building infrastucture (construction field).Can I get the job in this field as Trainee Engineer? We have 2 Nos. Transformer with the capacity of 2000KVA and 1250 KVA and currently using only one 2000KVA T/R during operational hours while non- operational hous 1250 KVA T/R also used to reduce T & D losses. Similarly, 2 capacitor bank of 500KVAR and 300 KVAR also installed to balance reactive power. Now problem is around 1000 KW load PF is not maintaning 0.99 as 350 KVAR capacitor is in healty condtion. Now the PF is maintain 0.95 to 0.96.
