Electrically... there is no problem... until the rotor
position disturbs...
but there is a chance for that... as the lower side bearing
will have to bear all the rotor weight.. and that also the
force acting on the bearing will not be in proper
direction... so first the bearings will gets damaged... and
then position of the rotor will be disturbed...so there
willl not be smooth operation of the motor.....

cab be possible but with some foundation modification.
but it is not recommended by motor manufactures as it may
affect motor performance and less motor life.

1) For Vertical mounting Motor. Flange type Mounting will
be the best.
2) If the motor is Fractional KW then Mounting is not
matters. if Rating of motor is High it is not possible to
use Horizontal motor as Vertical.

ELECTRICALLY THERE IS NO PROBLEM
HOWEVER MECHANICAL ASPECTS TO BE CONSIDERED
SUCH AS TYPE OF LOAD, BEARING SPECIFICATIONS,
TYPE & STRENGTH OF FOUNDATIONS.
