Electrical is the one kind of engg. But electronics is the
one branch of electrical engg. where currents are passing
through Semiconductor materials.
Sothat now we are using thyristor controls in Electrical
drives for variable speeds.

The basic differrence between Electrical & Electronics is
that Electrical-deals with linear device wheras Electronics-
deals with non-linear device.
For example, if you draw a chart of V / I (Ohm's Law) for
electrical device you'll get a straight line & for a
semiconductor device like a diode you'll get a non-linear
curve.

The above said answers are almost correct,ie. low
current ,low volotage, low power ,semicnductors etc
but the main issue is "in electronics they look for maximum
output but in electrical lok for maximum effecience rather
than max ouput

while electronics deals the flow of electrons and holes in
semiconductors.

The number of differences between electrical and
electronics engineering may vary, depending on the context
in which the question is asked. Some distinctions which may
exist in academe may not exist in the business world. There
is also a significant amount of overlap, not only between
electronics and electrical engineering, but with other
engineering disciplines as well.
Electrical engineers generally deal with large-power
applications, such as utility and industrial power systems,
whereas electronics engineers deal with low-power systems
such as computers and communications.

electrical deals with high voltage &low frequency where as
electronic deals with low voltage & high frequency

Answer / gunjan
in electrica systems we deal with quantities greater than 1
amp or 50 v and while we deal with quantities lesser it
becomes an electronics system.......
i dont know the exact limit of current and voltage that
distinguis between the two, but if you have noticed then in
your electronica lab you will not find any device that
operates on current or voltage greater than 1 amp or 50 v
respectively.

In India, the discipline of Electrical Engineering is treated as Electrical Power Engineering, which involves Electrical Machines, Power systems, Control Systems, Measurements and Instrumentation and Power Electronics, broadly. EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) as the popular name of the U.G program goes, it also includes topics from electronics, such as analog and digital electronics. Electronics engineering, on the otherhand, deals with electronics (digital and analog), and signal processing only. Most of the U.G programmes deal with communications and related signal processing also.
In the U.S, all these programmes are mostly carried out under a single academic department of Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
