Hi ,
Today , while refering about SAPDBA , i came know about ,
when we are facing performance issue, we need to increase
Table space and need to add data files to table space . but
i dint understand about data files and wht it contains ...
What is data files in Table spaces , what it contains actually ?
Answer / mainak
I guess you are using Oracle at the backround. A tablesapce
in Oracle is a logical container or an interface to access
the actual data. A data file is the physical file where
data is kept in the binary form. A tablespace can contain
multiple datafiles and every data file must be associated
with a tablespace. To add datafile in a tablespace without
SAPDBA you cun run
Alter tablespace tablespace_name add datafile (the location
and name of the data file and size).
