if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / rangnath

For AC Circuit,
KW = (V*I*PF)/ 1000
And For DC Circuit,
KW = (V*I)/ 1000

Where V = Voltage, I = Current, and PF = Power Factor

if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / pillay

there is no one formula only.
there are some formulas that you must know,,
you must know how to use the correct one when you need it.

for DC power it is always just voltage x current = watts

for AC single phase it is always volt x current x pf = watts

for AC 3 phase it is root 3 x volt x current x pf = watts

the watts than you change to KW or MW if necessary.
this are all for real calculations. when you practice with it often than you will be able to give an estimate bcos the pf varies according to situation.

if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / kumavat nareshkumar .c.

kw=v*i*cos(phi)/1000 in 1-phase ac
kw=1.73*v*i*cos(phi)/1000 in 3-phase ac
kw=v*i/1000 in dc

if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / kumavat nareshkumar .c.

kw=v*i*cos(phi)*1000 in ac
kw=v*i*1000 in dc
where v=voltage,i=current,cos(phi)=powerfactor

if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / arockia doss

Power(KW)*1000 = 1.732*V*I*Cos(pi)

I = KW*1000 /(1.732*V*Cos(pi))

if we convert ampers into kw,which one formula use by us,pls tell me?..

Answer / dinesh (techie.dinesh@gmail.co

first, KVA*PF=KW

WE know that, power = VI
so KW=VI

KVA*PF=VI

so, I= (KVA*PF)/ V

I have a drawing of a wound rotor induction motor for a crane. This crane motor has 5 forward speeds & 5 reverse speed implemented of course with different amount of resistance for each speed setting selected. What has got me scratching around is the fact that 8 of the 10 speed selections switch in uneven (unbalanced) amounts of resistances on each of the 3 connections to the motor's rotor.Can this be possible? I would have assumed this would produce unbalanced rotor currents and therefore vibration in the motor. I would greatly appreciate anyone's comments on this. Many thanks, Confused.
