voltage between earth and neutral should be below 5 volts
voltage between neutral and phase should be below 222 volts

Earthing voltage range may be within 0 to 3 volts and better if the earthing voltage within 1.0v. If the earthing voltage is 0 then there will be no problems at all for any instrument and its safety.

if it is a perfect[ideal] earthing, voltage between earth to
neutral should be 0V.but ideal earthing is not possible and
for an excellent earthing[ resistance is bellow 1ohm]
voltage should be in mV. Generally in industries they
maintains bellow 0.5V
Note: Earth to neutral voltage will be various continuously
while measuring.

everybody above had written phase to neutral/ground as
230V... if trafo used is a stepdown trafo of 132KV/33KV
rating then ???? so clearly mention .
otherwise the ans is correct.

Max Voltage between earth and neutral is Less than 5V, Not equal to Zero.
phase / neutral or phase / earth voltage is same (difference may be +/- 5%)

#If it is perfectly earthed then there is no voltage
diffance between earth & neutral that means it will be Zero
in all condition.
#voltage b/w phase and earth is 230 volt for all phases
#voltage b/w phase and neutral is varied from 220 to 230 v
it depends up on the phase balance conditions

Normally in case of single phase supply the phase and neutral comes from 3 phase power supply (one of the 3 phases).also as normally single phase supply is given to smaller appliances it's body is connected to earth and the neural is earthed at the source or transformer end.Now due to cable length of the neutal wire a voltage drop occurs and when measured we get a voltage between earth and neutal.Even if the neutal is connected to a perfect earth at the supply end due to cable resistance we receive a voltage drop.also note that the neutal earth is different from the appliance earth and you will always get a voltage drop between earth and neutral. If the voltage is zero between earth and neutral then it has been deliberately shorted and it should not be done as we do generally.also maximum 2.5% of rated votage is the neutral voltage

When we use air circuit breaker, it has O/L protection ,time delay SC protection, Instataneous SC protection & ground fault protection. They all have some setting range. But what is the suitable/allowable setting for the above protection which will be safe for the equipment? For example-O/L protection setting have a range of (0.4,0.45,0.5,0.55,0.6,0.65,0.7,0.8,0.9,1.0)xIn Time delay SC protection have a range of (1.25,1.5,2,3,4,6,8,10,12)xIn Time delay setting is 0.02,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4 Instataneous setting is fixed to 20xIn Gound fault setting is given 100A,300A,600A,900A,1200A This setting are for 2500A ACB. So what will be the basic allowable setting for the above protection? is there any formulae to calculate this<
