There are many causes
of low voltages. Some of
them are:
1). Overloading of a
particular phase.
2). Cable size.
3). Phase failure
4). Rust and worn out
cables.
5). Loose connections.
6). Neutral failure.

* We using many indutive loads(FANS,ANY MOTORS)
so powerfactor is below 0.4 (leading current in voltage)
so produce voltage drops
* Using capacitors in parallel to the loads
improve the powerfactor
* loads are properly divided reduce the voltage drops

Thhe probable reasons of low volage in houses are:
a)One of the phase on HT syde of transformer disconnected
because of breaking of jumper/HT fuse
b) excessive load on that particulr phase to which house is
conected
c)lower size of LT cable/ OH conductor selection resulting
in high voltage drop

electricity is nothing but the energy generated at station.
when it is transfer to home it goes from stage to stage.
the potential difference is decreasing at every stage to
maintain the current going in back to ground.
1) Possible reason is poor grounding OR NEUTRAL.
2) In the area use of high power devices(floor mile, lath
machine)
3)low current capacity cable wiring in the house.
now a days electricity is stable at various places in the
villages it is still high or low voltage.
use the stabilizer (servo stabilizer) use some branded one
as even local one is cheaper they not use the protection or
the radition protection.
Ultimatly good design and manufacturing the with good
components are different.

Excessive load of a conductor beyond its rated capacity
causes voltage drop at other end
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 18 Yes | 15 No |
due to inductive load
power factor decrease
so voltage regulation is required to make up the loss of
voltage

There are many reason for using Low voltage(415V,3ph)in
Houses:
1) Due to use of 415v at LV side of tranformer the Fualt
level & short cicuit current will be less compare to HV
side , hence you will require small size of cables upto
your main distribution panel.
2) If your short circuit(kA)& fault Level(kVA/MVA)is less
you reqire small rating of CB or SFU for protection.
3) Due to 415V (L-L) your operating devices, equipment can
run on 230V (P-L) For which they are designed.

We have drive feeding an output contactor for a 5000 hp motor @ 5kV application. The motor FLA is 629amps x 1.25% service factor = 786.25 amps The cable that we current have in place between the drive and the output contactor is 350kcmil- MV-105 (parallel cables). Per the NEC table 310.60 (C) (69). This show the cable ampacity is at 615 amps per cable for a rating of 1230 amps. We have derated the cable for the cable tray and the multiple cables application and our calculations show that after the correction factor factor we are at 922amps. 1230 amps x .75% correction factor factor = 922.5 amps. The customer is driving us to then use another safety factor of .25% off of the already derated cable. Can you please provide a longhand calculation for your solution on this application?
