Answer is 2.
Solution:
Divide the stones into 3,3,2. Put 3 stones on left pan and
3 stones on right pan. If heavier stone is present in any
one of the side then that side will get down. Take the 3
stones from that side and again put 1 stone on left and 1
on right. We can find the heavier stone from this. If both
are equal then the remaining one is heaviest.
While dividing the stones as 3,3,2 when both sides are
equal then take the remaining 2 stones and put it on left
and right.

with 2 times weighted.

The answer is 2, 3 balls on each of the pans of the
balancing scales, should the scales balance then from the
remaining 2, we can find the heavier ball through another
comparison which gives 2 comparisons, however in the first
place should the balance not balance, then from the heavier
group, pick 2 more balls (from 3) and weigh them, if the
scales balance then the remaining ball is the heaviest one
and if the scales do not balance then the one that is heavy
can be seen from that instant itself-- THUS THE MOST

Ans 2.
3 ---|----- 3 if same weight take the other two
obliviously one will be hevier than the other.
otherwise
in case of 3-----|----3 if one side is heavier, take those 3
keep 1--------|--------1 and check if both same and the
remaining one from the group of 3 we kept will be heavier,
otherwise one among the two we weighed will be heavier
so ans is 2.

Each envelope contains the least number of bills possible of any available US currency (i.e. no two tens in place of a twenty). At the auction he makes a successful bid of $8322 for a car. He hands the auctioneer envelopes number(s) 2, 8, and 14. After opening the envelopes the auctioneer finds exactly the right amount. How many ones did the auctioneer find in the envelopes?

Note that the first person can choose any of the 11 seats.
