If you are tranfering stock from 1 plant to another plant
means you are debiting liability from one department and
crediting to another department only (some time 1 segment
to another)because invenoty belongs to same comany
But when you are transfering stock from one company to
another (i.e cross company transfer ) here libility and
inventoy is being tranfer. so company has to pay tax to
Goverment accordingly

For same Company Code: Stock transfer from plant to plant
affects both accounting and Materials Planning, as follows:
Accounting
Accounting is affected if both plants are assigned to
different valuation areas. This means that a stock transfer
leads not only to a quantity update but also to a value
update (stock value, G/L accounts). Thus, parallel to the
material document for stock transfer, an accounting
document is created.
For different Company codes:
During the stock transfer, two accounting documents are
created in addition to the material document:
An accounting document for the removal from storage at the
issuing company code.
An accounting document for the placement into storage at
the receiving company code.
The stock posting is offset against a company code clearing
account

Hi,
The difference depends on the valuation level that is
maintained. Meaning whether the valuation is done in the
company code level or in the plant level.
Based on this setting the creation of accounting document
and the material document will vary.

While transfering the stock from one plant to another
plant, then you have to raise an invoice inclusives of all
taxes depends upon the state and province.
Stock transfer is misleading word rather you say debit and
credit with inclusive of all bills/invoices to different
allocation.
