overcome all the field effects either in inductor or capacitor.

consider voltage and current as phasors, angle between voltage and current is positive then leading (in case of capacitive loads) viceversa for lagging (in case of inductive load)
prevent lagging by parallal connecting capacitor banks or over excited synchronous motor
no need to prevent leading pf,

leading means current leadig the voltage if we take a anti
clock wise direction,,lagging means current is behind the
voltage by some angle if we take a anticlockwise
direction,,generally for inductive loads leading is
seen,,and for capacitative loads lagging is seen
