in contactor when its coil supplied with dc ..the position of its contacts changed n.o to close and n.c to open
contactor is connecting device
c.b is protective device when current increase than rated c.b trip

Basic difference - CB trips when the trip coil is energized, in csae of contactor , the hold coil is de- energized to trip .

there are major difference b/w contactor and circuit breaker. contactor has moveable contacts and fixed contacts
while Circuit breaker only have fixed contacts. contactor have become energized when it,s coil would be got supply or been energized. however these are 2 different things.
Ampacity may be same both of equipment.
