generally there is a no
difference between earthing
and grounding,but the
earthing terms are used in
india and europian country
while grounding terms are
used in USA for the
equipment and system
earthing.

Earthing means connecting to earth only . Grounding means
connecting to earth or to the body as in automobiles ,ships ..

the main difference is that ground refers to a particular point dug deep inside the earth whereas earth refers to simply normal earth i.e wire touching earth is said to be earthed but to ground it we have to connect it to the ground point

what is vector surge & vector shift? we have 25.3 MW(11kv) generator & 11kv/132kv transformer, connected with with 132 kv grid.vector surge relay is tripping frequentaly.what is permissible maximum limit for this.

In Dyn11 power transformer if any one of the 3 phases connected to earth in star connected side then please explain effect of the current flow in delta connected side of transformer.(In this case if one phase is shorted to ground in star connected side then we observe the current flow in two phases only not three phases in delta connected primary side. Please explain why it is so?)
