what is the difference between bdc and lsmw ?

BDC is a technique through which we upload data from
external system there are 3 technique in bdc
1.batch input session
2.call transaction
3.direct type
data validattion very much easy in bdc
but LSMW is legacy migration workbench it's Tool through
which we can upload data from external system
but we have to follow some step for that.
for validation we have to write down the code in step
Generally functional Guys are using that tool to upload
data for esier process
