after posting transactions to an asset can we activate the depreciation area ? if activate what is the impact ? if not able to to activate depreciation area what is the procedure to calculate the depreciation

Yes We Can Activate Depreciation Area and we can select new depreciation key
Go to AS02 in General data remove Deactivation on Date
and select depreciation tab segment Give the new Depreciation key
than system gives a message (Depreciation key XXX should no longer be changed (Please check))
Ignore this message press enter and ctrl + s to save
now system calculate depreciation as per new depreciation key

A) Create new depreciation area in OADB as per your requirement.
B) Activate depreciation area in OAYZ by depreciation terms for the required asset classes
C)Make sure of OAYH, OABC, OABD configured well.
D)Finally, run the AFBN and see the asset in AW01N.
