What will the new flow factor if D/P Transmitter is
RE-RANGED from 25" WC to 50" WC

Answer:
The flow rate at 50.0"wc will be 141.4% of the flow rate at
25.5"wc.
Reason:
The design maximum flow rate at 25.0" is 100.0% flow rate.
Flow rate is the square root of the percentage of flow at a
given DP.
The flow rate at 25.0"w.c. DP is the square root of 1.00 (or
100%)
If the DP doubles from 25.0 to 50.0, then the DP increases
from 100% at 25.0"wc to 200% at 50.0"wc
The flow rate at 200% DP increases by 141.4% because the
square root of 2.00 (or 200%) is 1.414.

Ans;- A simple calculation is as follow :- Q1 / Q2 = √DP1/√dp2
Q1= Q2 X √DP1/√dp2
Q1 = new flow factor, Q2 = existing flow factor
DP1 = transmitter new range DP2 = transmitter existing range
Q1 = Q2 X √50/25 = Q2 X 1.41
The new flow factor will be 1.41 times higher then the existing flow factory

In closed loop control there are several “blocks” used to show the interactions between the process and the control system. These blocks are referred to as the “process” and the “controller.” Describe the relationship between these two blocks when creating a well tuned control loop.
