In a coal fired boiler furnace temp. is high but super
heater out let temp. low what reason for this?

1. Scale deposit inside the boiler & superheater tube,
2. Soot deposits outer surface of boiler & superheater tube,

Final super heater inlet steam temperature is well below than flue gas temperature of that zone(400degrees). Steam travels trough super heater coils with higher velocity(may be 25m/sec) as per the boiler design to meet the steam requirement of turbine. Hence the pretension time of steam is very less in super heater zone. More over there is always a temperature difference across the tube thickness. Due to this reasons super heater out let steam temperature is always much below than flue gas temperature in that zone. However the boiler itself will be designed in such a way.

high cal value of coal is also the reason if we use high
amount of petcoke then furnace temp high but boiler outlet
steam temp not high

1.super heated coil have any leak or puntcure.
2.continousely opened condition of attemperator valve.
3.opened all turbine draine valves in trip condition.
4.forced draught fan tamper open value high.
5.operating problem having in super heater outlet valve to main sream line.
