for preparing 10cum of 1:4:8 cement concrete the
requirement of sand is
0.7cum
2.8cum
4.74cum
18.40cum
& how
Answer / engr.asad ali
we know that
Total wet volume of concrete = 10Cu.m
First we find dry volume
Dry volume = wet volume X 1.54
Dry volume = 10 X 1.54 = 15.4Cu.m
Determine sum of ratio = 1+4+8 = 13
And also we know that
Quantity of Sand = ration of sand X wet volume
-------------------------------
Sum of ratio
Quantity of sand = 4 X 15.4
-----------
13
Quantity of Sand = 4.738 Cu.m say 4.74Cu.m
