WHY HOLDING CONTACTOR OF MOTOR STARTER IS CALLED NO VOLT COIL...

In Motor Starter circuit, The load (Motor) is Normally Open
untill the voltage coil is energised. The working of this
coil is mainly dependent on the voltage, and there is no
importence for current in this coil,hence the name NO
voltage coil.

'N' stands for Normaly, 'O' stands for Open

since if no volt is avialble for coil operation, it
isolates the motor from supply.
like that it protect motor from start on load when supply
resumes.
