As per I.S. 13920 Vertical bars of Columns shall be lapped
in regular zone (Mid-height ) only
and it should be staggered i.e. not more than 50% of bar can
be lapped at one section. In
addition to that minimum clear vertical distance between
lapped bars shall be 0.25 times lap
length.

there are two types of zone in column,
1). no lap zone
2). splice zone
the lap length is provided in splice zone of column..

so we will take lenght 1000 and take it from bottom and take it from top of bottom

In column Lap length should be provided at mid height only
as per IS.
and it should be staggered prperly it means not more 50% of
of bar can be lapped at one section.
