I work on a electronic positioner transmitter 4211 at the
field.I connect my multimeter in series to get the current
output then I calibrate it to 4ma in 0% of position of the
valve and 20ma in 100% position of the valve. My problem is
in the field I get the correct output current based on my
multimeter but in the dcs they only receive 40% in a output
20ma of this positioner. Then I try to simulate in this
analog card and they receive the equivalent percent on the
value that I simulated. Is ther any possibility to reset the
zero and span of this positioner 4211 fisher. And what other
possibility I can do to fixed this. This is my email add (

AI card is two wire and the electronic positioner
transmitter is also two wire. I already simulate ma directly
into the card and the DCS receive the equal percentage of
the ma that I simulated.

dear friend as per my opinion be sure that your trasmitter
is 4 wire or 2 wire? OR ensure about your ai card 4wire or
2 wire

Answer / sks
you should check that your AI channel might consist of 3
terminals, 1+,1-, COM. this is the facility provided to
connect both voltage(0-10V) or current(4-20ma) analog signal
introducing to AI module/card.
since you are using current i/p(4-20ma) 1- & COM channels
must be looped with 250ohm resistance first. this might
solve your problem.
