ohm law can apply in both ac & dc
in dc : V=IR
in ac : V=IZ (where assume z = r)

cant use every place some limitation is there.
Ohms law is most applicable for only DC system.
As per Ohms Law I = V/R , V=IR AND R=V/I
In DC power system only resistance come to circuit
In AC system resistance,capacitance and inductance come to circuit.
so here Instead of R considered Z (impedance) Z= R+XL+XC.
