HOW TO CALIBRATE A PRESSURE SWITCH?..

Answer / rizwan

hi
procedure for calibration of pressure switch

for the pressur eswitch some set point is given for eg:
10 psi
so when we apply pressure to the pressur eswitch it should
get activated for that set point
the result sheet is written as

set point pre calibration post calibration
activation 10 psi 24 psi 10 psi
deactivation 30 psi 12 psi

the pressure switch adjustment is by some abjustment screw
or knob or according to the adjustment given in the preesur
eswithch.

HOW TO CALIBRATE A PRESSURE SWITCH?..

Answer / nanjilll

Procedure for the calibration of Pressure switch:

1.decide the required set point

2. check the switch contact is Normally Closed or Normally Open.

3.connect the multimeter between NC & Common and Select to continuity measurement.

4.apply the pressure by using hand pump or other pressure making tools(Hydraulic or Pneumatic)

5. check the change in continuity in multimeter.

HOW TO CALIBRATE A PRESSURE SWITCH?..

Answer / gireesh gokuldas

1)Obtain Permit to work. Confirm proper isolation of process.
2)Depressurize the system by draining or venting.
3)Disconnect the process tubing and replace with correct fittings for calibration with pressure source.
4)Wear goggles to avoid splashing of liquid into eyes when depressurizing.
5)Use a Digital Multimeter (DMM) set to the continuity range to check and verify that the switch contacts are as indicated: NO (Normally open) and NC (Normally close).
6)Connect the DMM between the normally open contacts (NO) and the common terminal (C) of the switch. The meter should read "open circuit"
7)Adjust the hand pressure regulator to increase the pressure to the set point of the pressure switch until the contacts change over.
8)The meter should now read "short circuit". Note the pressure reading and write it down. This pressure is the switch set point for a "rising" pressure.
9)Increase the pressure to the switch to its maximum rating.
10)Slowly reduce the pressure to the switch until the switch changes over from closed to normally open again.
11)Note and write down this pressure reading. This pressure is the switch setting for a "falling" pressure.
12)From the readings you have taken work out the pressure difference between the rising and falling pressure settings. This is called the "dead-band" of the switch.
13)The dead-band calculated should be equal to or less than the manufacturers’ dead-band
14)Disconnect the calibrator and restore the process tubing and put the switch in service.
15)Complete the calibration form and apply the appropriate calibration label.
16)Clean the area and clear Permit to work.

HOW TO CALIBRATE A PRESSURE SWITCH?..

Answer / anish kumar

deside the required set point as per application
check the relay system which points are in contact
check the continuity of relays
select pressure source depents upon the range of the
pressure switch
apply pressure and observe the relay is off/on at which
pressure range

HOW TO CALIBRATE A PRESSURE SWITCH?..

Answer / parth desai

Steps as below :
(a)Set desire pressure.i.e for e.g 4 kg (bar)
(b)Keep multimeter's wire on 1 & 3 point of coil.
(c)Move nob with 5 num.LaN key in clockwise or
anriclockwise direction till you will get continutity.
(d) as you will get continutiy @ 4 bar ur input in PLC will
cut. now tight grub screw of pressure switch.now increase
pressure from 4 bar so you will get i/p on plc.
