Answer / anil
above two ans are correct
Basic difference is
1.T/C is contact type temp semsing device.
Pyrometer is Noncontact temp sensing device.
2.T/C is used in where u r measuring a room temo, molten
metal bath temp, i.e. where u can insert it.
pyrometer is used where contact is not possible like
running hot sheets, metal strips like in steel industries

each has its own value.
Because pyrometer is used where t/c can not be used.and pyrometer can not take place of t/c.
pyrometer is used to measure the temperature measurment is done without contact or contact can be harmful like in foundries operations as anealing, tempering and melting etc,
there temperature range is higher than t/c range.
T/C is used in process industries commonly to measure temperature.where pyrometer cannot be used.

Both as its own application and its useage
t/c can measure only upto particular range only depending
on the type of t/c were as pyrometer range will be more
than t/c, at the measuring range of pyrometers t/c will
melt more over for temp. between 1100deg its lots better to
go for t/c only if the contact is available and the range
above this its better to preffer pyrometer wether it may be
contact r non contact is available

thermocouple is contact type measuring device which can be used up to 1100 deg/cel. whilepyrometer is a non contact measuring device which can be used up to 1100 deg/cel.both are best according to the application
