why low pressure side of the turbine is connected to the
alternator and not the high pressure side??
Answer / vamshikrishna
to counteract the large axial thrust developed on the
tg(turbine generator) shaft, because of the impingement of
the high pressure, high temp steam on the turbine inlet
side( at high pressure side), we place the alternator on low
pressure side.
