Question { BEL, 9610 }

what are the types used for alternator earthing,what will
happen if more than two alternator is working in
parallel with each having own system earthing.is there any
possibility for circulating current in between two system.

Answer

the two types of earthing is used: 1. pipe type earthing
2. sheet type earthing
NOTHING WILL HAPPEN WHEN TWO ALTERNATORS ARE WORKING
PARALLEL WITH EACH HAVING ITS OWN EARTHING.
NO THERES NO POSIBILITY OF CURRENT CIRCULATION.

Question { Ecil, 35515 }

1KVA transformer of different frequencies of
50hz,100hz,500hz&1000hz. which one of these transformer has
big size? Give reason

Answer

Mr. Mohh. Shahid
if v/f=flux
then fr is inversly proportional toflux
then if u increase the fr the flux will decrease
and so the core area also decreases.

all this is for the constant voltage

but for the constant flux the fr is directly proportional
to the voltage

so if the voltage increases the insulation increases and
hence the size of the transformer increases.
then in both the casesthe action is opposite

then how can u say that the size of the transformer
increases.
check it out

Question { 17131 }

what is the difference in inductance and resistance.both
oppose the flow of current but how.resistance having + ve
power in both cycle while inductance having both power.

Answer

resistance is wat which resists the flow of current and
produces voltage drop
totally cause of power drop
but::::::;; inductor opposes the change in current
and store the current in the form of magnetic energy.
it doesnt causes any power loss

dats it isnt it so simple

What is the major diff between cu conductors and Al
conductors ?

Answer

cu: 1. costly
2. higher current rating
3. less power losses
4. stronger than Al
5. 1 sqmm of cu can take current upto 4.5 amp( 2nd
point)
6. more heat resistive
7. good conductor coz of higher current rating
Al: 1. cheaper
2. low current rating
3. more power losses than cu
4. weaker
5. 1 sqmm = 1.2 amp
6. less heat resistive
7. good conductor but cu

Question { 4098 }

what is MEMS and any one of it applications?

Answer

What is MEMS Technology?
Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) is the integration
of mechanical elements, sensors, actuators, and electronics
on a common silicon substrate through microfabrication
technology. While the electronics are fabricated using
integrated circuit (IC) process sequences (e.g., CMOS,
Bipolar, or BICMOS processes), the micromechanical
components are fabricated using compatible "micromachining"
processes that selectively etch away parts of the silicon
wafer or add new structural layers to form the mechanical
and electromechanical devices
MEMS promises to revolutionize nearly every product
category by bringing together silicon-based
microelectronics with micromachining technology, making
possible the realization of complete systems-on-a-chip.
MEMS is an enabling technology allowing the development of
smart products, augmenting the computational ability of
microelectronics with the perception and control
capabilities of microsensors and microactuators and
expanding the space of possible designs and applications.
Microelectronic integrated circuits can be thought of as
the "brains" of a system and MEMS augments this decision-
making capability with "eyes" and "arms", to allow
microsystems to sense and control the environment. Sensors
gather information from the environment through measuring
mechanical, thermal, biological, chemical, optical, and
magnetic phenomena. The electronics then process the
information derived from the sensors and through some
decision making capability direct the actuators to respond
by moving, positioning, regulating, pumping, and filtering,
thereby controlling the environment for some desired
outcome or purpose. Because MEMS devices are manufactured
using batch fabrication techniques similar to those used
for integrated circuits, unprecedented levels of
functionality, reliability, and sophistication can be
placed on a small silicon chip at a relatively low cost.

Question { 14093 }

What is the function of an exciter in a generator?

Answer

exciter as per its name provides exitation to the
generator. it gives the starting torque to the generator
which helps in pre acceleration of the generator.
in case xciter is not there the excitation can be provided
with the help of prime movers which are hand driven.

Question { Siemens, 138121 }

What is the difference between MCB & MCCB,
Where it can be used,

Answer

MCB - MINIATURE CIRCUIT BREAKER
MCCB - MODULE CASE CIRCUIT BREAKER
MCB RATING : 63 AMP (MAXIMUM) i.e. in the form of tpn(
THREE PHASE + NUETRAL)
MCCB _ 63AMP (min.)
MCB IS USED WHERE LOAD IS LOW BUT MCCB IS USED WHERE LOAD
IS HIGH AND USE AS INCOMER.WHILE THE MCB IS USED FOR
OUTGOING.

Question { Coca Cola, 51708 }

What is encoder, how it function

Answer

IT IS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE USED TO CONVERT THE DATA OR
INSTRUCTION INTO CODES AND TO RE USE D DATA DECODER IS USED
TO OBTAIN THE DATA IN REAL FORM.
An encoder is a device used to change a signal (such as a
bitstream) or data into a code. The code may serve any of a
number of purposes such as compressing information for
transmission or storage, encrypting or adding redundancies
to the input code, or translating from one code to another.
This is usually done by means of a programmed algorithm,
especially if any part is digital, while most analog
encoding is done with analog circuitry.

Question { MEIL, 414113 }

I want formula to calculate cable size as per load given in
kw & amp.I searched many sites but didn't right answer.Plz
reply me asap.

Answer

sorry i dont have the xat formula for that but
for ALUMINIUM CABLE: 1sq.mm = 1.2 A of current
CU: 1sq.mm = 5.0 A of current
and the relation b/w A & KW IS
1KW= 1000*A*240*COS#
A- CURRENT
240= VOLTAGE
COS# = POWER FACTOR (.8 TO .99)
NOW IF U KNOW THE EXACT CURRENT LOAD OR LOAD IN THE FORM OF
KW U CAN EASILY FIND THE AMPERE RATING.
AFTER FINDING THE AMPERE RATING U CAN CALCULATE THE THE
SIZE OF THE CABLE. ANKUSH MIGLANI
