yes, once application server(central instance) can have any
number of instances depending on business requirement, for
ex, dialog instance, background instance etc,. one
dispatcher per instance is sufficient. To find out which is
central instance and which is dialog instance, check the
enqueue work process, instances that has enqueue is the
central instance and the remaining are dialog instances.

Application Server is another name for an Instance. One SAP
System can have a central instance and multiple instances
(application servers). One application server has only one
dispatcher.

An instance is real form of application server.
The dispatcher listens at PORT 3200.
Where "00" is instance number...we can configure upto 100 instances..
LAST THREE INSTANCE NUMBERS 99 is dedicated to SAPROUTER. Instance numbers 97 and 98 are dedicated to SMD- SOLMON DIAGNOSTICS..

Yes,a single Application Server can have Multiple
Instances , one dispatcher per Application Server with a
minimum of 15 instances with 5 dialog instances,2 back
ground wp or instance 2 Spool process and etc.
