Breakers are designed for various breaking capacity which
in turn is related to arc quenching media.
VCB - vaccum is the arc quenching media and hence can break
high current high voltage supply and hence used in medium
voltage 11/22kv.
ACB - Air is the quenching media and hence used in LT side
i.e 415 v circuits.

We use MCCB not MCB for motor starters because MCCBs has capablity to drawout the motor starting current which is 5-6 times the full load current of motor for 1sec. Then why we use SDF in starter panel means MCC panels. Pls reply if any one knows this answer.
