we use y-y conection in exctra high voltage transformer
like 132kv as we know that in star connection line voltage
is-1.732.phase voltage.so less insulation required in y-y
conection.
in distrubution transformer at 11kv we can easily insulate
windings due to voltage level is low.and also get domestic
load.

ok u r using any transformer , anywhere but
the important is what is ur need ?
if u want , in distribution u need 440v -phase to neutral
u r using star connection
u need 11kv hv , u use delta connection
the important is u r using neutral or not generally line
side transformer has delta connected

WE USE Y-Y CONNECTION IN POWER TRANSFORMER COS WE NEED STAR
POINT SO IN DELTA YOU DNT HAVE A STAR POINT AND FOR
DISTRIBUTION YOU USE D-Y CO YOU TAKING POWER FRM SUBSTATION
WHICH IS 11KV FRM SUB TRANSFORMER TO YOUR CONSUMERS
